I’m Marissa & I’m so glad that you stopped by. Here at  Prickly Pear Design Co.,  you’ll find a little bit of everything that makes my life good. I’m hoping you’ll find something here that makes you happy too.

It all started back while I was in business school, PPDC was formerly known as My Own Brand Of Happy (MOBOH). I’d left my job in a creative industry to learn the nuts and bolts of business and found myself longing for the creative I’d left behind.

Fast forward a few years and here I am. Graphic designer, brander, small business owner, family historian, momma, and wife are just a few of the hats I wear on a regular basis.

With a Bachelors in Communications – Journalism and an MBA in Marketing I love everything that has to do with social media, traditional print, and advertising. Prior to MBA school I worked for a small design house. I learned a ton about project management and good design, and got my first dose of what a graphic designer does on a daily basis. I worked with a variety of clients (brand new start-ups with hardly two pennies to rub together all the way to huge multi-million dollar companies that launched hundreds of products worldwide.)

I’d love to work with you on building your brand and promoting your business. Read more here…

My first real creative job was as an editor for PaperCrafts Magazine – one of the sister publications to Creating Keepsakes. It didn’t take me too long to realize that I loved paper crafting and scrapbooking. Now I’m back with my own family’s story to record and am loving trying my hand at creating designs and elements that you can use to tell your own stories. You’ll find a growing list of products right here in our shop.

You can still find me on Etsy, the original MOBOH shop still exists – I just haven’t had the heart to part with it.

Thanks for stopping by!
