With Easter coming early this year (I always think of the holiday as one that belongs in April, but this year it’s March 27th!), I feel the rush to take down our Shamrocks and all things green and get our Easter decorations up. Usually, I just take out the glitz of the gold coins and the few shamrocks we have scattered about and put in the rest of the Spring and Easter decorations we’ve gathered over the years.
We’ve recently moved into a house that has a real fireplace with a proper mantel. (Cue the choir of decorating angels rejoicing about a mantel I can deck out for the holidays with all the cute ideas I’ve found on Pinterest, right?). That said, I’ve been crushing on so many fun mantel banners and had decided that something Spring would be perfect to whip up. Then I saw Bettijo’s idea from Paging SuperMom and new that this was it. I couldn’t agree more than the phrase “He Lives” is both the perfect length for a banner, and also the most important reason to celebrate this holiday. Her super cute designs don’t stop with a mantel banner though, she’s also, included a coordinating tablescape for your Easter meal.
I love how the colors are bold and bright. And I also love that I don’t have to worry about finding a super nice tablecloth that will match – I’m planning to copy her decor and just use a simple white runner and these darling themed placemats, along with some simple floral arrangements that run the length of the table.
Her kit includes it all – cute paper tags to create food picks, name cards, and napkin rings and drink tags that have a variety of scripture verses on them. Each napkin ring or drink tag is numbered so during your Easter meal you can follow along and read the story of Christ’s life and His Resurrection. You could even invite your guests to bring along their own scriptures or just have a few on hand to pass around.
You’ll probably notice, just like I did, that large, beautiful Hallelujah print in the background. If you’re wondering where you can find it, Bettijo has included it in the kit as well. There is an 8×10 you could print off and frame to give as a gift to friends and family, or the large poster size (36×48) that you can use to hang in your home.
